The panelists were: John C. Brady of Oaktree Capital Management, Samuel K. Freshman of Standard Management Company, William R. Lindsay of PCCP, LLC, Michael B. Nagin of Wells Fargo Bank and Jan B. Our key sponsors included the Ziman Center at UCLA, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, Koss REsource and Wells Fargo.

The panel discussion covered the current marketplace and where the panelists see opportunities in the next 12 months. Some of the specific topics addressed include:

- If this is good or bad sign that prices and volume are up from 2011 to 2012. - Whether or not there has been higher competition in past 12-24 months. - The current outlook of the opportunistic lending market. - The strength of the single family flipping business. - If the wave of refinancing occurred and if it created opportunities. - The chance of another bubble developing. - The potential for all trophy assets in the United States ending up being owned by sovereign wealth funds.
