Mr. Nee has held a number of leadership positions in the investment management industry. 

  • He most recently served as Chairman and CEO of Covariance Capital Management, at the time, the $2.5 billion Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (“OCIO”) solutions provider of Teachers Insurance Annuity Association of America (“TIAA”), created to more fully serve the needs of TIAA’s large base of not-for-profit clients. 

  • Prior to that, he served as President of Wilshire Private Markets, at the time, the $5 billion private markets division of Wilshire Associates, a financial services firm providing discretionary investment management, investment consulting and risk management products and services to clients in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Australia. Investment mandates ranged from core, diversified private markets vehicles covering several geographies and private markets sectors to niche-oriented separate accounts providing more specialized exposure. 

  • He also served as Managing Director of BlackRock Alternative Advisors (“BAA”)/Co-Founder, Principal and Portfolio Manager of Quellos Private Capital Markets.  BAA’s Private Equity Partners (“PEP”), at the time, managed nearly $6 billion across private equity partnerships and co-investments in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Israel, after BlackRock’s acquisition of Quellos Group (“Quellos”) in 2007.  PEP represented the integrated private markets team of professionals from both the existing private equity activities of BlackRock, through PEP, and those of Quellos, through Quellos Private Capital Markets. 

Mr. Nee received a BS in Finance, summa cum laude, from Villanova University and an MBA, with honors, from Columbia Business School.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst charterholder.
